Position: Head Mechanic
Starr Golf Management is currently seeking a fulltime golf course mechanic at its Arnold Palmer
designed Spencer T. Olin facility located in Alton, Illinois.
The golf course mechanic position is a key role in the success of our company so
working/communicating with the management team on a daily basis is vital. Our company manages
four golf courses so this position must be willing at times to tend to any issues we may need at any of
the facilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
*Maintains a preventative maintenance program and keeps thorough records of service and parts used
on all machines.
*Maintains a clean work area and incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
*Is highly organized and follows all safety measures as it pertains to equipment and working procedures.
*Places orders for parts and supplies as needed for equipment to be approved by the
Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent first.
*Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance
equipment.
*Performs mower grinding/sharpening, performs general overhaul of motors, reels, and installs/adjust
breaking systems.
*Diagnoses mechanical problems and schedules appropriate preventative maintenance work.
*Job work is Monday thru Friday but must be available if needed on the weekend at the request and
scheduling of management.
*Performs other duties requested by management and must work well with others.
