Assistant Superintendent
Nashville Municipal Golf Course is looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to fill the role of Assistant
Superintendent.  Located just an hour east of the St. Louis metro area, NMGC is one of the most well maintained 9-hole
golf courses in Southern Illinois.  With a unique layout, the course offers elevation changes throughout the course with
well established bentgrass greens and zoysia fairways.  Seeing just shy of 17,000 9-hole rounds in 2023, we are looking
for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment to join our team.
Educational Requirements
 A degree or certificate in turf management or related field is preferred, but not required.
 Must possess knowledge and understanding of turfgrass management practices and procedures.
Job Requirements
 Prior experience with turfgrass maintenance or related field.
 Must have experience operating equipment necessary for turf maintenance.
 Be a motivated self-starter who has an attention to detail.
 Able to perform highly detailed tasks necessary to maintain the course grounds at a very high quality.
 Must have the ability to obtain an Illinois Pesticide Operator’s license and be able to apply pesticides and
fertilizers per applicator’s direction.
 Perform tasks necessary to maintain equipment and perform repairs as necessary.
 Operate, maintain, and repair irrigation system.
 Must be willing to perform regular weekend and holiday work throughout the season as necessary.
 Take the role of team lead during certain tasks and projects.
 Must have a valid driver’s license.
 Willing to work in all types of weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
 Lift, push or move up to 50 lbs.
 Work independently
 Must be able to work in a busy environment and be aware of your surroundings at all times
Pay
 $19.80 / hr. starting wage
 $0.50 / hr. raise after 6 month probationary period
 Overtime
