June Meeting at Columbia Bridges 23 participants enjoyed a great day of golf and camaraderie at Columbia Bridges GC on Tuesday. Our host Tom Brown had the course and greens in great shape and rolling true. A shout out to "Grillmaster" John Kendall for a great job on preparing some very tasty burgers and brats from a local meat market for lunch and perfectly seasoned grilled chicken following play. Nothing was left over! A special thank you to Columbia Bridges GC for providing the June Meeting venue as it has been awhile since we visited CBGC. CBGC provides some challenging golf holes with some great views from the bluff. Add it to your play list if you haven't already done so! President Brian Borah conducted the meeting following golf and discussion centered on upcoming Association events. The Missouri Turfgrass Field day is next on the list and if anyone is interested in carpooling to make the trip to Columbia please let me know and we will try to coordinate some meeting points. John Kueper reported on the PGA Gateway Golf Summit Meeting scheduled for Thursday Nov 21st at Forest Hills CC. You don't want to miss this educational opportunity as they are putting together a pretty impressive line up of speakers! Unofficially, Charlie Rymer of the Golf Channel is planned as the emcee with the seminar theme focused on hiring the best and keeping staff personal. Among confirmed speakers for the Summit are Mark Slayter (St Louis Cardinals Director of Player Personal and Richard Teschner, a Top Gun pilot and motivational speaker. Complete list will be forth coming. Mark your calendar. CEU points will be available. Discussion followed with a suggestion that we have a scramble format for the golf at the monthly meetings as this would draw or encourage more participants at the meeting. So the question is: Is the golf format a big factor on making your decision to attend the meeting or not ? Yes or No . Let us hear Meeting was adjourned at 5:35
